In November, a legislative audit on Utah’s current and future state of housing was released. The audit found a need for higher-density housing to keep up with Utah’s forecasted population growth.
As the state continues to grow in population growing population, Utah could begin to run out of space for housing in as little as 20 years. The audit estimates that 27,900 housing units will need to be built annually to keep pace with population growth.
