Our police officers and firefighters are the ones we rely on to keep us safe. Supporting them with competitive pay is vital to the effectiveness of our law enforcement and the security of our communities. In June, the Council adopted a resolution to provide competitive compensation to firefighters and police officers.

In recent years, the Council approved several pay increases for all employees, including police officers. Additionally, the Police Union and the City negotiated pay increases for officers based on their years of service.

These pay increases reflect the demanding nature of our officer’s jobs and appreciation for their efforts. Additionally, the increases help our police department stay competitive in the market and retain qualified officers.
