A New and Improved Curtis Park Will Re-Open This Spring

Curtis Park, located at 1421 S 2000 E, will close for approximately 12 weeks to allow for an exciting improvement project that will enhance accessibility and the overall park experience. This project represents an investment in creating a space that better serves the community.

Strengthening Connections

The project is designed to establish a welcoming pedestrian connection that improves access between:

  • Curtis Park
  • The public right-of-way at 2200 East
  • Foothill Village

The improvements will make it easier and more enjoyable for residents and visitors to move between the park and surrounding destinations.

Designed for Community and Accessibility

The updated design emphasizes community connection, accessibility, and preservation of the park’s open character. Key features of the project include:

  • A colorful, community-oriented staircase
  • ADA-accessible pathways to ensure inclusive access for all
  • Built-in seating walls and gathering areas to encourage connection
  • New tree plantings and enhanced landscaping
  • Improved pedestrian connectivity throughout the site

Together, these elements will create a more inviting experience while maintaining the natural openness that makes Curtis Park an important neighborhood space.

Looking Ahead

Construction is expected to last approximately 12 weeks, with the park reopening once improvements are complete. During construction, access between Curtis Park and Foothill Village may be temporarily restricted as necessary for public safety. We appreciate the community’s patience during this temporary closure and look forward to unveiling the updated Curtis Park this spring.
