If you’re looking for the PAWfect place to get out in nature with your pup, Parley’s Historic Nature Park should be at the top of your list. This fenced, off-leash friendly, park is a favorite for dog owners around the city. There is plenty of room for dogs to run, socialize, and get some fresh air!

What is Parley’s Historic Nature Park?

Located at 2667 Heritage Way, Salt Lake City, UT 84109, Parleys Historic Nature Park is a scenic open space with wide trails and beautiful views. This park is accessible and welcoming for people and pups alike!

Dog Amenities:

Space to run – Parley’s Historic Nature Park is a space where dogs can run freely to get their energy out! Dogs of all ages, sizes, and energy levels have plenty of room to explore. The off-leash nature of the park makes it easy for them to socialize and play.

Watering hole – During the warmer months, dogs can cool off and splash around in the designated water area. This is great for dogs who love water on hot summer days!

Cleaning up after your pets – Trash cans are placed around the park to dispose of your used dog waste bags. Keeping this park clean helps the space stay enjoyable for everyone. (In winter, garbage cans are limited to the entrance of the park. Please take your waste with you.)

What to bring:

Drinking water (for you and your dog) Large sections of the park have little to no shade. Staying hydrated is important.

Good walking shoes! Parts of this park are steep and good sneakers or even hiking boots are recommended.

High value dog treats With so many off-leash dogs in the area, having yummy treats your dog loves is vital to keep their attention when you need it.

This area is sometimes socially referred to as Tanner Park, which is a misconception! Tanner Park is the Salt Lake County owned park down the road. If you hear people talking about Tanner Dog Park, they probably mean Parley’s Historic Nature Park!
