Fire Station No.7: Tennis and Pickleball Restoration
Project Description
This project will fund the construction of four pickleball courts and other amenities at the Fire Station No. 7 Tennis Park on 300 North (west of 1000 West). This space currently has two tennis courts that are in need of repairs. After looking into the needs of the community, it was decided to replace these tennis courts with pickleball courts. This new layout also allows the neighboring community garden to expand. This project would also add associated amenities on site such as court lighting, drinking fountains, and ADA access. Public Lands is funding the design of the courts which will be completed in 2026.

Prior Engagement
Poplar Grove Sportcourts Survey
A survey was conducted in the summer of 2022 that helped to understand how to rebuild the courts and the community’s desires. There were 304 submissions and results showed that there is strong support to have more pickleball courts in the community. Survey responses also indicated they would like lights installed at the park to increase safety.
