Project Description
Home to the large bronze-cast cat sculptures (“Dairy Cats” by Day Christensen), Steenblik Park is a 0.61-acre park in the Rose Park neighborhood. Using funds from the Parks GO Bond, approved in November 2022, Steenblik will be enhanced to better reflect neighborhood needs and unique history.
Improvements will include: updated playground equipment; additional seating options; shade structure; more trees; and improved landscaping.

First Round of Public Input
Public Lands conducted the first phase of community engagement for Steenblik Park from May to September 2023.

Using the insights shared with us by the community in the first round of public input, a couple designs were created to help visualize the redesign of Steenblik Park.

Project Updates
CURRENTLY: Project Design & Document Review
The project team has adjusted the design of the park based on feedback received during the second round of public input.
Now, construction documents are being finalized, after which Public Lands will go out to bid to select a construction contractor.
Construction is tentatively expected to begin in 2026.
