Winter Compost Suspension

Salt Lake City suspends compost collection for a short time each winter. This helps to reduce emissions and save on fuel costs.

2025 compost suspension schedule

  • This winter, 2025, we will stop collecting compost carts on Jan. 20.
  • We will start picking them up again on Feb. 28.
