Salt Lake City Council Members Host Westside Food Preservation Event for Residents
The hands-on Canned with Care event will offer sessions in English and Spanish.
SALT LAKE CITY, Thurs., Sept. 10 – As families across the country continue to feel the pressure of rising costs of everyday essentials, Salt Lake City Council Members Victoria Petro, Alejandro “Ale” Puy and Chris Wharton are inviting community members to “ Canned with Care ”, a free, hands-on event focused on making groceries go further by learning how to safely preserve food.
The event includes sessions in English and Spanish, with Spanish-language demonstrations scheduled for Friday evening and Saturday morning. No previous canning experience is required.
WHAT
Canned with Care, a free, hands-on community event focused on food preservation. The event is one example of the Council’s broader effort to find new and creative ways to support residents as families navigate rising costs.
