Northpoint Annexation
On June 10, the Council adopted an ordinance annexing land in the Northpoint area, located along 2200 West in Salt Lake County, into Salt Lake City. The Council also adopted the zoning designation for the annexed properties and requested the Administration review the property at approximately 2699 W 3300 N for potential rezoning to M1-A.
Next Steps
The annexation will now move to the Lieutenant Governor’s Office for approval and finalization.
Once finalized, the property will become a part of Salt Lake City, making the city boundary more unified. Additionally, the annexation will bring more property taxes to Salt Lake City. However, it will also increase some city service costs, such as police and fire. The annexed properties will be within the Northpoint Small Area Plan, which the Council approved in 2023.
