Council Member Alejandro Puy attended the groundbreaking ceremony for The Other Side Village in Salt Lake City on Wednesday, March 8. A tiny home village with affordable housing options will be constructed as part of this innovative project to address chronic homelessness. 60 homes will be built as part of Phase 1, with the goal of expanding to hundreds in the future. Each 400-square-foot home will be fully furnished and equipped with essential amenities. In addition, there will be a grocery store, coffee shops, a farmer’s market, and a community events center in the village, which will offer local employment opportunities. The first phase is set to be completed in the summer of 2023.
