Dear Neighbor,

I am your Salt Lake City Council Member, and I wanted to be one of the first to welcome you to the neighborhood and share some helpful resources that may come in handy.  

Council District 2 is situated in the southwest corner of Salt Lake City. It includes the neighborhoods of Glendale, Poplar Grove, and parts of Fairpark and Downtown. The Westside, which includes District 2, is known for its homes with large lots, urban farming, and home to many families. It is also one of the City’s most diverse communities and features some of the best restaurants.

The International Peace Gardens at Jordan Park hosts the 9th West Farmer’s Market in the summertime. It is also a great jumping-off point for an all-day bike ride taking you along the river for over 50 miles in either direction on the Jordan River Parkway.

1. If you haven’t already, don’t forget to update your voter registration with your new address; it just takes a few minutes.
2. Download the SLC Mobile App to report potholes, broken lights, garbage, issues related to people experiencing unsheltered homelessness, and any other issues you see.
3. Stay informed about what the City Council is working on by signing up for the District Two newsletter. You’ll also receive updates about community events and projects near you (Don’t worry, we don’t spam).

I am so excited to welcome you to our beautiful community. Whether you’re new here or are coming back after some time away, you will feel right at home. Soy su Concejal de Salt Lake City, y quería ser uno de los primeros en darle la bienvenida al vecindario y de compartir algunos recursos que pueden serle de utilidad. 

El Distrito 2 del Concejo está situado en la esquina suroeste de Salt Lake City. Incluye los vecindarios de Glendale, Poplar Grove, y partes de Fairpark y Downtown. El Westside, que incluye al Distrito 2, es conocido por sus casas con terrenos grandes, por su agricultura urbana y por ser el hogar de muchas familias. También es una de las comunidades más diversas de la ciudad y cuenta con algunos de los mejores restaurantes. 

Los Jardines Internacionales de la Paz de Jordan Park acogen en verano el mercado de agricultores de la calle 9th West. También es un buen punto de partida para un paseo en bicicleta de día completo que le llevará a lo largo del río durante más de 50 millas en cualquier dirección por el Jordan River Parkway.
