A Message From Our Director
As we reflect on the past year, I am proud to share the remarkable work of the dedicated professionals who serve in the Salt Lake City Department of Public Lands. Our team continues to care for the spaces that shape daily life in Salt Lake City. Every trail maintained, program delivered, tree planted, and park improved reflects our commitment to livability, stewardship, and exceptional service to the residents of this special city.
This year brought both challenges and meaningful progress. Through it all, our employees demonstrated teamwork, resilience, and a desire for continuous improvement. Across divisions, staff supported one another, strengthened partnerships, and advanced projects that expand access, support environmental sustainability, and ensure our public lands remain welcoming, inclusive spaces for all. Their work reflects a shared belief that these spaces belong to everyone and should help every resident feel safe, connected, and represented.
I am deeply grateful to the Public Lands team and impressed by the service they provide to our city every day. Together, we are not only caring for extraordinary places, but we are investing in a future where our public lands strengthen community, promote health and well-being, and enhance quality of life for generations to come. I am inspired by what we’ve accomplished this year, and even more hopeful about what we will achieve together in the future.
