Proof of Address Examples

Have questions about what you need for your proof of address? Check out our guide below for more information on what is accepted and not accepted. Examples of correct and incorrect documents to verify your address are included below.

Accepted Documents

What qualifies to verify your proof of address? Upload one of the documents listed below to your application to show that you are eligible:

  • Utility bill
  • Bank statement
  • Major credit card bill
  • Mortgage statement

Important notes:

  • The document must have a visible date of January 1, 2026 or later.
  • Please redact any sensitive information. We only need to verify your name, address, and date of the document.
  • The name and address on the document must match those on your application.

Not Accepted Documents

Commonly submitted documents that are not accepted include:

  • A bill envelope (the date on the document is not shown).
  • A bill being under a spouse’s name (the name on the application must match the name on the document).
  • A bill or document where no name is shown.

Not Accepted Example

Text: If your document is missing critical information it will NOT be accepted. Example 1 - No date on document Example 2 - Date is before January 1, 2026 Your address is not visible on the document. Name on document doesn’t match the name on application. The document shows no date or is dated before January 1, 2026. Not an approved document type: (utility bill, bank statement, mortgage statement or major credit card bill)

Ejemplo de documentos no seran aceptados

Si el documento no incluye información importante NO será aceptado. Su dirección no es visible en el documento. El nombre en el documento no coincide con el nombre en la aplicación El documento no muestra una fecha o la fecha es antes del 1 de enero de 2026. Tipo de documento no aprobado: recibo de servicios, estado de cuenta bancario o hipotecario, o recibo de tarjeta de crédito principal. Ejemplo 1 - El documento no muestra una fecha. Ejemplo 2 - La fecha es antes del 1 de enero de 2026.
