Material set-out guidelines

Wondering how to set items out for a Call 2 Haul pickup? This page outlines the process for both bulk and green waste pickup.

First remember, two scheduled bulk waste pickups per year are included when you sign up for the City’s residential curbside garbage service (one bulk pickup and one green waste pickup).

Once you’ve scheduled your bulk or green waste pickup, follow these steps:

  • Place items out for collection no more than 24 hours prior to your scheduled collection date.
  • The collection pile should be roughly 8 feet wide, 4 feet deep and 4 feet high. This is about the size of a pickup truck bed or an SUV. NOTE: If you have a larger volume of material for disposal, please take it directly to the Landfill or use a private hauler.

  • Separate material; avoid stacking breakables. 
  • Separate mattresses from the pile, as they are picked up separately.
  • When possible, leave 10 feet of open space on either side of pile.
  • Place at least 5 feet away from fire hydrants, trees, poles, mailboxes, and walls.
  • Please do not block sidewalks, driveways, or other traffic infrastructure.
  • If your pickup is missed, or you require special accommodations, call or email using contact info at the top right of this page. NOTE: Pickup times vary, but it’s usually between between 7 a.m – 2 p.m.
