BSCE – Fee Schedules

Fees are used to defray the expenses involved with plan review, conducting inspections, and associated clerical and supervisory services. The following are the fee schedules used by Salt Lake City Corporation. Fees must be paid before any permits are issued.

Building Permit Fees

Building permit fees are based on the value of the work, as calculated by the plans examiners. The calculation is based on the Uniform Building Code fee schedule. Plan review fees are to paid at the time plans are submitted for review. Plan review fees are 65% of the building permit fee. Payment of the plan review fee is in addition to the building permit fee and is non-refundable after plans are accepted and the review is started. Zoning Fees

Zoning fees are based on the fee schedule in the Salt Lake City Zoning Ordinance, Title 21A. The fees that need to be paid from this schedule include variances, special exceptions, conditional uses, historical landmarks applications, etc.

Impact Fees

Impact fees are accessed based on a project’s impact on city infrastructure. An Impact Fee Assessment worksheet can be accessed here.
