Meeting Highlights

Fiscal Year 2025-26 (FY26) Budget Updates

The Council hosted their final public hearing of the FY26 budget season. Community members and stakeholders were invited to share their input on the city budget before it is adopted later this month. 

The Council also received briefings on:

  • Fire Department Budget (Watch)
  • Arts Council Division Budget (Watch)
  • The first of two briefings on budget-related legislative intents (Watch)
  • A follow-up briefing on unresolved items from the proposed budget (Watch)

Updates from the Administration  

Community Engagement:  

Salt Lake City believes public input is essential to making the right decisions for our city. Visit the City’s website for a list of projects currently collecting feedback. 

Mayor’s Community Office Hours:  

The Mayor’s team of community liaisons is available to constituents to discuss community needs and receive feedback.

Homelessness Update: 

Homeless Resource Centers saw a 96% occupancy rate from May 26 to 30.

The next Homeless Resource Fair will be held Friday, June 13 at Pioneer Park. Homeless Resource Center Community Block Parties will be held on the following dates to help the community build relationships with center staff and residents:

  • Friday, June 20 – Geraldine E. King Women’s Resource Center (131 E 700 S)
  • Friday, June 27 – Gail Miller Resource Center (hosted at the parking lot at 1335 S 300 W)

NEXT COUNCIL MEETING

Thursday, June 5

The Council will meet for a special work session at 1 p.m. to continue discussing the city’s proposed Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget.

Tuesday, June 10

The Council meets as the Community Reinvestment Agency (C.R.A.) at 2 p.m. and the Council’s work session begins following the C.R.A. meeting and ends at approximately 6:30 p.m. The formal meeting begins at 7 p.m. and ends upon the conclusion of items listed on the agenda.

Council staff can provide parking validations for the City Library.

Please note: 200 East between 400 and 500 South is closed through June 24 due to back-to-back festivals. If you’re attending the meeting in person, please park in the City Library parking garage. ADA parking is available south of the City & County Building, along 500 South.
