FY27 Budget Update
The Council held a discussion centered on how to best mitigate the impact on residents of property tax and utility rate increases while balancing the city’s budget and long-term financial stability. Various departments and specific projects were discussed, including:
- HIVE Pass Programming
- Landscape Exchange Program
- Public Safety Programs and Equipment
- Expanding SLC Fire’s CHAT Program
- Food Resiliency support options
- Public Utilities Assistance Program to offset water costs for home gardens
- Public Facilities Equipment and Systems
- Upgrades and Repairs, including HVAC and septic maintenance at a city park
- City Leadership Travel and Conference Attendance
- Funding for tree maintenance

First Work Session with Your New District 4 Representative
Council member Jennifer Napier-Pearce joined the Council for her first work session as the District 4 representative after being appointed earlier this week at the Tuesday council meeting.
Next Council Meeting
Tuesday, June 16
The Council meets at 2 p.m. for their work session. The formal meeting for the C.R.A., Local Building Authority, and City Council begins at 7 p.m. and ends upon the conclusion of items listed on the agenda.
The next opportunity for public comment is Tuesday, July 14, at 7 p.m.
Note: 200 E between 400 and 500 S will be closed June 12 through 23 for the Utah Arts Festival. If you are attending the meeting in person, please use the City Library parking garage and request a parking validation from Council staff. The garage can be accessed from 400 or 500 S between 200 and 300 E. ADA parking is available along 500 S, south of the City & County Building.
