Main Street Fire Support
The Council held a public hearing on a budget amendment relating to the Main Street fire, including funding for an emergency loan fund program, rental assistance and funding for barriers to allow safe pedestrian passage in front of the damaged buildings. The emergency loan fund program and the safe pedestrian passage were approved, while the rental assistance has been deferred to a future Council meeting.

Votes
The Council approved the following items during the formal meeting:
- A development agreement for a new parking garage at the southwest corner of the Delta Center site. The project is designed to make it easier for people to attend events, reduce congestion and improve how the site functions overall.
- Amending zoning for the properties at approximately 247 North 800 West to enable development to the west of the existing single-family home
C.R.A. Briefings:
The Council, acting as the Community Reinvestment Agency, was briefed on the following items during the work session:
- The Ballpark NEXT Community Design Plan, which focuses on the adaptive reuse and redevelopment of the Smith’s Ballpark. The Board will consider formally adopting this plan at an upcoming CRA meeting. (Watch)
- Held an initial discussion on a proposed Disaster Relief Loan Program Policy to help businesses reconstruct properties after fires, earthquakes, flooding or storms. The Board will consider adopting this program at their October meeting. (Watch)
- CRA Budget Amendment No.1 for Fiscal Year 2025-26, which reallocates funding from multiple sources to the proposed Disaster Relief Loan Program and the Commercial Development Loan Program. (Watch)
Briefings
The Council was briefed on the following items during the work session:
- Increasing the capacity of the Salt Lake City Justice Court. (Watch)
- A proposal to address recurring nuisance properties and after-hours alcohol consumption at commercial properties. (Watch)
- Shifting U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) HOME-American Rescue Plan funds to supportive services to better assist households. (Watch)
