Snow Safety

The arrival of snow signifies a fantastic period of fun to be spent with family and friends. However, it’s also important to ensure that our sidewalks are as safe as possible so that we can enjoy the fun. Cleaning snow quickly and periodically is much easier than waiting until the end of a big storm. It is illegal to leave snow or ice on city sidewalks for more than 24 hours after the storm has stopped, according to the Salt Lake City Code(14.20.070).

When cleaning snow, it is essential to remember to push snow rather than lift it. Make sure to stretch, use your legs instead of your back, and take frequent breaks. These tips will ensure you and everyone around you have a great winter season.
