Collective bargaining allows Salt Lake City and its employees to jointly promote cooperative relationships. Salt Lake City formally recognizes three unions, including: American Federation of State, City and Municipal Employees (AFSCME); International Association of Firefighters (IAFF); and Salt Lake Police Association (SLPA).
