Proposed Project Overview

The applicant, Chris Jorgensen, has submitted a petition for a Conditional Use Permit at 4820 W 700 S for the installation of an antenna tower exceeding the maximum building height for the M-1 District.

The maximum allowable building height in this district is 65 feet. The site currently supports several similar antenna towers ranging from 117 feet to 130 feet in height. There is currently an 80-foot tall tower in the proposed location on this site that is being replaced with the proposed 120-foot antenna tower

Next Steps

Notice of this application has been sent to the Chair of the Poplar Grove Community Council. Community Council Chairs may choose to schedule the matter at an upcoming meeting. Please contact the chairs of these organizations to determine whether a community council will review this petition and when and how that meeting will occur.

Public Comment Period: August 6 – September 20, 2025

Notice has also been sent to property owners and residents within 300 feet of the project to obtain public input and comments on the proposal. Notified parties are given a 45-day period to respond before a public hearing with the Administrative Hearings Officer can be scheduled.

During and following this comment period, the Planning Division will evaluate the proposal against the applicable zoning standards, taking into consideration public comments as they relate to the standards, and develop a recommendation for the Administrative Hearings Officer.

Public Hearings & Final Decisions

The Administrative Hearings Officer will then hold a public hearing for additional public comments and make the final decision on the matter.
