Proposed Project Overview

Jae Hyun of Uncommon Architects, representing the property owners, is requesting Design Review approval for a 16-unit mixed-use multifamily development at 950 W. 1000 N. The proposed height is 30’, with three stories. The proposal is for 16 residential units total -six two-bedroom units, six one-bedroom units, and four studio units- above four commercial units on the ground floor. The proposal includes six garages on the ground floor and 14 additional on-site parking spaces. The property is approximately 15,500 square feet and is in the MU-2 (Mixed-Use) zoning district. Design Review is required for modifications to zoning standards.

Next Steps

Notice of this proposal has been sent to Chair(s) of the Community Council(s) in the area where the project is located. The Council(s) may choose to review the proposal at an upcoming meeting. Please contact the Chair(s) directly to find out if the proposal will be reviewed, and if so, when and how the meeting will take place.

Public Comment Period: July 13 – August 27, 2026

Notice has also been sent to property owners and residents within 300 feet of the project location to obtain public input and comments on the proposal. Notified parties are given a 45-day period to respond before a public hearing with the Planning Commission can be scheduled.

During and following this comment period, the Planning Division will evaluate the proposal against the applicable standards, taking into consideration public comments as they relate to the standards, and develop a recommendation for the Planning Commission.

Public Hearings & Final Decisions
