Finding Your Zoning Information
The Planning Division can only provide information related to properties within the Salt Lake City Jurisdictional Boundaries.
1. Confirm Your Location
Check the Salt Lake County Jurisdiction Boundaries Map to see if your property is located within Salt Lake City boundaries. To find contact information for your jurisdiction, check the Salt Lake County Jurisdictions Directory.
2. Find Your Zoning
Use the online zoning map to identify the zoning for any property in Salt Lake City.
3. Check Allowed Uses
To find out what’s allowed on your property, refer to the Land Use Tables in Chapter 21A.33 of the Zoning Ordinance for permitted uses in that zone, such as business types and residential uses.
4. Submit or Look Up an Application
The Citizens Access Portal is a direct connection to Salt Lake City’s permitting and petition (application) database. Here you can research property information, view the progress of a petition in real-time, and submit your applications.
To learn more about the application process, view the Applications web page for details about application types and timelines.
