Proposed Project Overview

Salt Lake City received the following requests from the Altus Development Group.

  1. Zoning Map Amendment: To rezone the property from R-1/7,000 (Single Family Residential) to RMF-35 (Moderate Density Multi-Family Residential).
  2. Master Plan Amendment: To amend the Sugar House Community Master Plan Future Land Use Map from Low Density Residential to Medium Density Residential.

Notice of this proposal has been sent to Chair(s) of the Community Council(s) in the area where the project is located. The Council(s) may choose to review the proposal at an upcoming meeting. Please contact the Chair(s) directly to find out if the proposal will be reviewed, and if so, when and how the meeting will take place.

Public Comment Period: May 27 – July 8, 2026

Notice has also been sent to property owners and residents within 300 feet of the project location to obtain public input and comments on the proposal. Notified parties are given a 45-day period to respond before a public hearing with the Planning Commission can be scheduled.

During and following this comment period, the Planning Division will evaluate the proposal against the applicable standards, taking into consideration public comments as they relate to the standards, and develop a recommendation for the Planning Commission.

Public Hearings & Final Decisions

The Planning Commission will then hold a public hearing for additional public comments and make the final decision on the matter.
