Solving the Puzzle of Salt Lake City’s East-West Connections
In April 2022, Salt Lake City applied for the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) discretionary federal grant program for a 3-year comprehensive planning, engineering, and environmental study of east-west connections in Salt Lake City, particularly for people walking, bicycling, or taking transit. Although this grant was not funded, work is still needed to identify specific ways to improve these crossings across the Interstate-15 and railroad corridors for safety, comfort, and travel time reliability. Salt Lake City will continue to seek funding to address this community need.
