Livable Streets Zone 6 (Jordan Meadows)

Livable Streets Zone 6

Jordan Meadows

We’re hosting a public design review, Wednesday, January 10th at Backman Elementary from 6 to 7 PM. Your feedback on the initial design concept will help us finalize the neighborhood traffic calming plan in Zone 6. Can’t make the meeting? Take the Livable Streets survey.

Project Overview

In 2023, the Livable Streets team will implement traffic calming in zone 6 of the Livable Streets program. Our goal is to improve the safety, livability, and attractiveness of the streets in the Jordan Meadows neighborhood.

Engagement Updates

We are holding public meetings to gather input from the neighborhood on how to best address the traffic safety issues in the area. The following are past meetings in chronological order starting at the most recent.

Neighborhood Meeting - November 8, 2023

Wednesday, November 8th, 2023 at Backman Elementary

Feedback was provided by the meeting attendees and some trends and common issues were highlighted. Below is a summary of the key takeaways:

  • Speeding has been identified as the top issue along local neighborhood streets in Zone 6, with cut-through traffic being the main culprit.
  • Semi truck traffic through the area is a genuine concern for safety and comfort while using the transportation system in the area.
  • Parking availability is another concern of note that was taken from the feedback provided by residents at the meeting. Semi-truck parking is another concern that residents would like addressed in some capacity.
  • Enforcement of traffic laws would help in the area without the need for traffic calming elements.
  • Congestion is a big issue along the arterials in the area and it is spilling over into local streets.

Virtual Open House - December 7, 2023

Wednesday, December 7th, 2023

Residents who attended only provided feedback for Zone 7. No feedback was collected.
