2023 Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers

Council Member Puy spoke at the 2023 Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) National Convention banquet held in Salt Lake City. Council Member Puy spoke about how SHPE has played a crucial role in bridging the gap between the Hispanic community and STEM, serving as a vital architect for building a strong and diverse domestic workforce. Additionally, he noted that In our great state of Utah, the Hispanic population accounts for the second-largest community group, recently crossing the half-million mark in 2022. That’s why we must tap into this growing demographic to meet the rising demand for STEM professionals while creating avenues for economic growth. Attendance at the 2023 National Convention in Salt Lake City was record-breaking.
