SUCCESS STORIES: The Façade Grant and Salt Lake Barber Company/Culture Coffee

Salt Lake Barber Company and Culture Coffee were awarded funding from the Housing Stability Division Neighborhood Business Improvement Program (NBIP), a.k.a. the Façade Grant. The staff at the RoHa Brewing Project had this to say about their award:
The Salt Lake Barber Company and Culture Coffee are proud recipients of SLC’s Facade Grant for the second time. Our first grant in 2017 helped us improve our downtown barbershop by replacing facade windows, painting, and adding an exterior wall. The recent grant for our new coffee shop and west side location allowed us to enhance the exterior by installing RGB color changing signs for both businesses, painting the building, adding down lighting, installing a window and door to the patio, and creating a concrete pad for bike racks. Our experience with the grant has been exceptional. We have had positive interactions with city liaisons and contractors. We are committed to utilizing this program in the future and encouraging other community members to do the same.
We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to once again improve our businesses through the Facade Grant. The impact of the grant on our barbershop was undeniable, and we have already seen a significant increase in foot traffic and overall customer satisfaction. With the enhancements made to our new coffee shop and west side location, we are confident that this grant will continue to have a positive impact on our business and the surrounding community. The support from the city liaisons and contractors has been nothing short of remarkable, and we look forward to utilizing this program in the future to further enhance our business ventures. We wholeheartedly recommend the Facade Grant to other community members looking to improve their storefronts and create a more vibrant and welcoming atmosphere in Salt Lake City.
