Programs Overview
Salt Lake City’s goal is to foster communities with safe, sustainable and affordable housing. With our new Five-Year Housing Plan, passed December 2017, we can work to stabilize families in their current homes, provide new opportunities for affordable homeownership and ensure our neighborhoods are equitable, integrated communities that can support new growth.
The main programs are:
Handyman Program– Individuals 62 years and older or disabled who are low to moderate income can receive up to $1,000 grant to address small home repairs.
Home Repair Program– Individuals who are low to moderate income to obtain no and low-interest loans to address health, safety, and structural issues in your home.
Targeted Repair Program– Individuals under 50% AMI can receive up to $50,000 as a forgivable loan to repair major structural and/or mechanical component deficiencies in your home.
Home Buyer Program– Individuals who are low to moderate income can obtain a mortgage loan for Salt Lake City Homes.
Shared Equity Program– A tool used to preserve our naturally affordable housing, make home ownership affordable, and eliminate substandard homes from Salt Lake City.
