Salt Lake City finished reconstructing this segment of 2700 South in January 2020. As part of the project, crews repaired curb and gutter, sidewalks and access ramps as needed. They also upgraded an aging sewer line, installed bike lanes in both directions, and upgraded pedestrian crossings.
2500 East: Foothill Drive to 2100 South
In 2019, Salt Lake City reconstructed 2500 East and Downington Avenue to extend street life, improve drainage, and enhance the travel experience. The project included new concrete pavement, upgraded access ramps, and repairs to sidewalks, curbs, and drive approaches.
Post Street & 1000 West: 700 South to 800 South
In 2019, Salt Lake City combined the reconstruction of Post Street and 1000 West into one project to streamline construction and reduce disruptions. Improvements included new pavement, upgraded access ramps, and repairs to sidewalks, curbs, and driveways.
700 South: 5600 West to 5000 West
In 2020, Salt Lake City reconstructed 700 South between 5600 West and 5000 West to extend the road’s lifespan, improve drainage and access, and enhance mobility in this westside industrial area. Improvements included new concrete pavement, a storm drain system, curb and gutter, sidewalks, and drive approaches.
1300 East (1300 South to 2100 South)
In the summer of 2018, we began to replace and rehabilitate aging underground utility lines to improve water and sewer services as part of a two-year effort to reconstruct this segment of 1300 East. After the completion of the first phase of the project in early 2019, we began to implement several roadway features as part of the final phase. These included the replacement of decaying drive approaches, sidewalk, pavement, curb, and gutter, upgrades to storm drains, new ADA compliant bus stops, a dedicated center turn lane, and bike lanes in both directions.
