About the Park

Allen Park is a destination for art, history, nature, and even exotic birds. The property was developed by Dr. George Allen and Ruth Larson Allen in 1931. The Allens turned the property into an aviary, nature sanctuary, and a community of artists and academics. To preserve this unique property, Salt Lake City purchased Allen Park in 2020.
