Council Approves FY23-24 Community Projects

As part of the annual budget process, money is set aside for the City’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The money is available for citywide community projects that improve public property. This includes streets and sidewalks, parks, and buildings. Projects have a service life of five or more years and cost $50,000 or more.

On Aug. 15, 2023, the Council voted to adopt nearly $40 million in project-specific funding for the City’s annual Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget. The Council funded 26 CIP projects recommended by Mayor Erin Mendenhall and the Capital Improvements Project Advisory Board and an additional seven projects with extra funding—$1.2 million—allocated in the FY2023-24 City Budget.
