20 MPH Local Streets Initiative
In June 2022, the Salt Lake City Council adopted an ordinance lowering the local speed limit to 20 MPH. The ordinance impacted approximately 420 miles or 70% of the City’s public streets.
1700 South: 1700 East to 1900 East Lane Striping
In June 2022, Salt Lake City added bike lanes and a centerline to 1700 South (1700 E to 1900 E), improving a key biking connection by narrowing travel lanes and limiting parking to the north side.
