Project Overview
The Neffs Tank is one of many water tanks owned by Salt Lake City Department of Public Utilities. It is located about 1,500 feet up Neffs Canyon. In 2024, we completed a condition assessment to evaluate the tank. This project, scheduled for 2026, will complete several upgrades recommended in that assessment. These improvements will help improve the condition of the tank, extend its lifespan, and make operations safer.

Construction Impacts
This project will not result in any Neffs trailhead parking lot closures or trail closures. We ask that hikers and dog owners exercise caution in this area. Here is what you can expect:
- Increased noise at the tank during work hours (Monday to Friday, 7:00am-6:00pm)
- Increased vehicle traffic and dust on the tank access road (Neffs trail)
- Clearly marked traffic control for trail users at the tank
*This is a standalone Public Utilities project. This is not related to any US Forest Service or Millcreek City project in Neffs Canyon.
