Fiscal Year 2025-26 City Budget

The Council held the first budget public hearing of the season, receiving constituent input on the proposed budget. A second budget public hearing is scheduled for June 3 at 7 p.m.
The Council also continued reviewing the Mayor’s recommended FY26 budget and received proposed budgets for:
- Community Reinvestment Agency
- Department of Information Management Services
- Department of Public Services
- Justice CourtsDepartment of Public Utilities (follow-up on proposed rate increases and a preview of a new utility bill estimator tool launching soon)
Recognizing Pride Month

The Council joined Mayor Erin Mendenhall in declaring June as Pride Month in Salt Lake City. Representatives from the Utah Pride Center received the resolution.
Votes
The Council approved the following items during the formal meeting:
- Appointments to city boards & commissions:
- Lilah Rosenfield, Michael Vela and Jeffrey Barret to the Planning Commission.
- Esther Daranciang to the Bicycle Advisory Committee.
Briefings
The Council was briefed on the following items during the work session:
- An update about mySLC, the city’s new hub for residents to request services, report issues and share feedback.
- A proposed rezone of property at approximately 128 North N Street.
Next Council Meeting
The Council will meet for a work session at 2 p.m. to continue discussing the proposed Fiscal Year 2025-26 Budget.
The Council’s work session will begin at 1 p.m. and end at approximately 6:30 p.m. The formal meeting starts at 7 p.m. and ends upon the conclusion of items listed on the agenda.
The 7 p.m. meeting will include the second of two scheduled budget public hearings for the FY26 season.
