Community Liaison
Liaison for Districts 6 & 7: Yalecrest, East Bench, Foothill / Sunnyside, Bonneville Hills, Wasatch Hollow & Sugar House
Chimalli was born in Los Angeles and raised in Layton, Utah, before moving to Salt Lake City for college and falling in love with the city and its people. Most recently, Chimalli served as Neighborhood Specialist, implementing the Love Your Block program to help community members turn their ideas for local improvement into reality. Prior to that, he served as a Love Your Block Fellow, work that helped establish Love Your Block as a fully funded City program. Earlier in his career, Chimalli worked in land stewardship and community outreach with Salt Lake City Trails & Natural Lands, promoting conservation and connecting diverse communities to the city’s public lands. He also supported public health efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic as a Contact Tracer with the Utah Department of Health. Chimalli earned a bachelor’s degree in Urban Ecology, with a minor in Business, from the University of Utah in 2022, and a Master of City & Metropolitan Planning from the University of Utah in 2023.
