Ryan Loumis, property owner representative, is requesting approval to vacate a portion of Tempo Road abutting the property at 1800 S 7200 W. The property is located in the M-1, Light Manufacturing zone, the Inland Port Authority Overlay and Airport Flight Path Protection Overlay Zone C and is currently used for agricultural purposes. The portion of Tempo Road proposed to be vacated is approximately 1,332 FT in length and 66 FT in width. The applicant is requesting the street vacation in response to a lack of use by the public, illegal dumping, and unlawful activities. When a street or a portion of a street is vacated, it is no longer public property. In this case, the petitioner has requested to purchase this portion of the street right-of-way and include it in their property boundary. The map includes the approximate area under consideration.

- Notice of this application has been sent to the Chair of the Glendale Community Council, where the property is located, who may choose to schedule the matter at an upcoming meeting. Please contact the chair of this organization to determine whether a community council will review this petition and when and how that meeting will occur. - Notice has also been sent to property owners and residents within 300 feet of the project to obtain public input and comments on the proposal. Notified parties are given a 45-day period to respond before a public hearing with the Planning Commission can be scheduled.
- During and following this comment period, the Planning Division will evaluate the proposal against the applicable standards, taking into consideration public comments as they relate to the standards, and develop a recommendation for the Planning Commission.
- The Planning Commission will then hold a public hearing for additional public comments and make a recommendation to City Council.
- The City Council will hold another public hearing for additional public comments and make the final decision on the matter.
