Proposed Project Overview
Salt Lake City has received a request from Logan Johnson, on behalf of the property owner, to demolish the triplex at 1259 East 200 South. The structure is located in the University local historic district and the University Neighborhood national historic district. The building was constructed in 1912 and is an early 20th-century bungalow. It is listed as a contributing structure in the most recent historic survey (2022), meaning that the building retained its historic integrity at the time of the survey. According to the information submitted by the applicant, the demolition request is to facilitate the redevelopment of this property and the neighboring gas station property to the east. This proposal requires Historic Landmark Commission (HLC) review and must meet all the requirements of Chapter 21A.34.020.K of the city code to receive approval. The HLC meeting will be held at a future date.
