Information for Candidates

2023 Candidate Filing Period

PLEASE NOTE: You cannot declare candidacy until these dates. You can open your Personal Campaign Committee, however, that is different than filing a Declaration of Candidacy.

August 8th-15th, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (excluding Saturday and Sunday).

Because Salt Lake City has opted into Ranked Choice Voting for the 2023 Municipal election, there will be no Primary Election. This moves the candidate filing period.

Declarations will be accepted at the Recorder’s Office in the City & County Building (451 S State St, Suite 415, Salt Lake City, UT 84111). One-hour parking is available in the circle entrance access from 200 East.
