UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: The Salt Lake City Building Permits Office is closed to the public except by appointment.

Click here to schedule an appointment us. Appointments are only being offered for those who need technical assistance applying for a building permit, we do not offer in-office plan review. Our office will continue to only accept electronic permit and plan submissions- paper applications and plans will not be accepted for review. All appointments are required to be scheduled 24 hours in advance. If you have questions about our appointment process, please contact us at 801-535-7968 or slcpermits@slcgov.com

~ Building Code currently has 30 projects pending review and is currently reviewing plans submitted on May 26th

~ Fire Code currently has 45 projects pending review and is currently reviewing plans submitted on June 3rd

Self Help & General Information

All permit applications must be submitted electronically through the Citizen Access Portal.

Plan Review Pre-Screening Checklists are available online and are required with a Plan Review Submission:

After permit issuance, inspections can be scheduled through the Citizen Access Portal

Payments

Credit Card and E-Check payments are accepted made through the Citizen Access Portal.

Paper check payments are accepted by mailing the check with the appropriate invoice to the Salt Lake City Treasury.

Checks received without an invoice cannot be processed.
