Volunteers are needed for the 68th United Nations Civil Society Conference, announced Mayor Jackie Biskupski.
Scheduled for Aug. 26-28 in Salt Lake City, it is expected that the conference will bring up to 5,000 attendees from more than 100 countries all over the world. The goal for the volunteers is to create a welcoming atmosphere for attendees while providing accurate information and useful resources to leave a lasting impression of Utah’s hospitality.
Volunteer opportunities will available throughout the entire conference and will range from greeters at the airport, community ambassadors stationed around the city near the convention center and information specialists within the center and the Hall of Friendship. Volunteers will be asked to fulfill a minimum of two four-hour shifts, and one two-hour training day.
“Our city is committed to making the upcoming United Nations conference one of the most successful conferences ever,” said Mayor Biskupski. “As we have seen in past events held in our city, volunteers play a major role in the success of an event, and we are fortunate to live in community that is so welcoming, friendly and willing to help out.”
