Rose Park Neighborhood Center Project

Project Description

Public Lands has been working with the Good Samaritan Foundation and Wasatch Community Gardens to install a new community garden at Rose Park Neighborhood Center. Funded as a 2022 constituent CIP application by Wasatch Community Gardens, the completion of this garden became a Mayoral Goal for 2023.

The new community garden will include at least 50 gardening plots including ADA plots, a community gathering space for outdoor events, maintenance infrastructure and new plantings.

Community Engagement

The project team worked with Rose Park Neighborhood Center and Wasatch Community Gardens to meet the needs of the community garden. A public open house was also held on June 6, 2023 to gather feedback from the broader community, and garner interest in gardening. Public Lands shared the final design in late 2023.

Project Updates

With design complete, the garden is anticipated to begin construction early of 2024, and complete in the Spring of 2024.

The first gardening season will begin soon after and will be managed by Wasatch Community Gardens.
