Trail Camera Study in the Central Wasatch

The Bio-diversity and Conservation Ecology Lab at the University of Utah and Sageland Collaborative , in collaboration with the Natural History Museum of Utah and Salt Lake City Trails and Natural Lands, are hosting a community science program where volunteers take ownership of a field site by maintaining and monitoring a motion-sensing camera in the Central Wasatch, assist with animal ID photos, and contribute to an online database in an effort to fill critical data gaps in our understanding of native wildlife populations along the Wild Urban Interface. For more information about Salt Lake City’s Trails and Natural Lands’ involvement in this project, contact our staff here.
