The Salt Lake City Department of Public Utilities (SLCDPU) is rehabilitating the existing, aging sanitary sewer pipeline on 600 and 700 North. Trenchless technology will be used to minimize construction impacts to those in the area.
Project Schedule*
Work begins mid-November 2024 and project completion is expected mid-January 2025
*Construction schedule subject to change
Construction Impacts
- Traffic and on-street parking will be affected during construction
- Pedestrian sidewalks and crosswalks are expected to remain open and accessible
- Public transportation bus routes (UTA and school) may require rerouting during construction. When applicable, rerouting information will be posted.
- Temporary interruption of private sanitary sewer service at points where construction affects the connection between a residence/business and the main sewer line. Advance notice will be provided to impacted residents/businesses prior to planned interruptions.
If your business/organization is located along 600 or 700 North between I-15 and I-215 and has special requirements related to construction, we would like to coordinate with you to minimize impacts. Please contact us.
Project Benefits
The sewer line that runs below 600 and 700 North is aging. The project to rehabilitate this portion of Salt Lake City’s sanitary sewer system will improve sewer service. The map below shows the project area and where construction impacts are expected.
