Hidden Hollow Landscape and Irrigation Improvements

Project Description

Public Lands worked with Utah Open Lands and other stakeholders to design landscaping improvements in Hidden Hollow to improve user experience and ecological systems. The improvements include:

  • Add irrigation for native plantings
  • Add pathways and improve vegetation throughout the park
  • Revitalize the sandstone amphitheater area
  • Repair the stairway to the boardwalk to improve safety
  • Complete a project to install bollard lighting around the walking path
  • Remove select invasive tree species to improve sight lines and replace with native plants

Construction was started August 7, 2023 and is anticipated to continue throughout the Spring of 2024. The park will remain open to the public, though portions may be inaccessible and off-limits due to construction. All projects are anticipated to be complete by Summer of 2024.

Project Updates

As of the close of 2023, a majority of the major infrastructure improvements to Hidden Hollow have been complete! Park users are now able to enjoy a newly-configured amphitheater space with additional seating and increased sight-lines. In addition, new pathways circulating the park have been completed and are open for pedestrian and bicycle use.

Public Lands is currently working on including irrigation and new native shrub and tree plantings throughout the park, which is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2024.
