SUCCESS STORIES: CDBG-Funding, Donated Dental Services, and Andrew

Andrew wasn’t aware how much a new smile would mean to him until he was served by Donated Dental. Addressing the doctor who served him, he said this:

I had never heard of [Donated Dental Services] and probably never would have if not for The Other Side Academy, but after being a student here for a while I was given the opportunity to be seen by [them] and get my teeth fixed. I knew I had bad teeth but didn’t know the extent of what I would need done to be given what [has been] given me. It truly is a life-changing thing to have a great-looking smile. I have always been a smiling man but now I smile with a new level of confidence that I didn’t have before. It’s such a relief to not have to worry about people looking at my teeth when I talk to them. At work, a big part of my job is interacting with the customer to give them a good experience and that involves being personable and expressing interest in what they vision for me and my crew. When I go about my day and job now I don’t feel so nervous having to speak and find myself not trying to keep the conversation short. Thank you so much for the selfless work you do not only for me but for every one person you see on any given day that you choose to be there volunteering your time, creativity, and services when you could be doing anything else.
