Notice of Open Applications for Emergency Rental Assistance Program Housing Stability Services. May 16, 2022 to June 17, 2022

Emergency Rental Assistance Program Housing Stability Services aim to ensure low-income households financially impacted by and during the COVID-19 pandemic maintain stable housing. Salt Lake City Housing Stability is seeking to fund a tenant representation program that will provide free legal aid to eligible households at risk of eviction.

Requirements

  • Identify and conduct outreach to Salt Lake City households at risk of eviction
  • Determine eligibility for free legal aid under the Emergency Rental Assistance Program
  • Provide free legal aid to eligible tenants who anticipate eviction, have received a threat of eviction, or have received an eviction notice which may include:
    • Educating tenants on their rights and responsibilities
    • Attempting to resolve disputes by negotiating arrangements between the landlord and tenant
    • When efforts to resolve disputes fail to prevent court-filing, provide free legal representation to tenants in eviction court
  • Track and report data regarding the number of households served including outcomes and demographics

Application

The application will open May 16, 2022 and close June 17, 2022. No late applications will be accepted. Grants will be awarded within one month after the application period closes.
