Success Stories: The Handyman Program, Barbara, and Jim
March 16, 2017
Barbara and Jim weren’t sure what to do when a main sewer line broke in front of their home. Repairs would cost them money that was needed elsewhere for critical home rehabilitation. Luckily, the Housing Stability Division Handyman Program was able to help. The Handyman team was able to repair the break in the sewer line and address other needed home repairs, such as improved insulation in doorways.
This assistance was welcomed by the couple. In their own words, they were “not sure what [they] could have done without the [City’s] program.” Jim and Barbara said they were “really happy [the Handyman program was able to do] the work. Without the help, we couldn’t [have] stayed in the house.”
