Notice to Comment on a FY 2025 USEPA Brownfield Cleanup Grant Application for the Pacific Northwest Building

Salt Lake City is working with a development team to renovate the Historic Northwest Pipeline Building, formerly the Public Safety Building, located at 315 East 200 South. To support this project, named “The Grove”, Salt Lake City is submitting an application to the US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) for a FY2025 Brownfield Cleanup Grant. If awarded, this grant money would be used to remove asbestos-containing material from the building. The City of Salt Lake invites the public to review this grant application and provide comments in person or online.

Review the Application

  • In-person: A copy of the draft grant application, including the Draft Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA), will be available for public review and comment at the Housing Authority of Salt Lake City’s front desk, located at 1776 South West Temple Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84111.

Submit Public Comment

  • In Person: A public meeting will be held at the Housing Authority of Salt Lake City’s October Board Meeting on October 28, 2024, at 11:00am (MST).  The Housing Authority of Salt Lake City is located at 1776 So. West Temple Salt Lake City, UT 84114. Accommodations will be provided for individuals with limited English proficiency and/or disabilities. 

  • Online: All comments may be submitted by Friday, November 1, 2024 at 5 p.m. to Catherine Wyffels, Air Quality & Environmental Program Manager via email at catherine.wyffels@slc.gov.
