More information

What to expect during construction

Construction typically takes place between April and October. Residents can expect daytime noise, dust, and temporary traffic impacts. Access to homes and driveways is maintained whenever possible. If access is temporarily affected, our team will contact you.

What’s included in reconstruction

Street reconstruction may include new pavement, curb ramps, curb and gutter, stormwater infrastructure, and sidewalk, depending on the location. Some projects may also include Complete Streets upgrades that make it safer and easier to walk, bike, and cross the street.

Many of these projects were funded through the voter-approved Funding Our Future bond.

How streets are selected

Streets are selected based on pavement condition and inspection data. The Salt Lake City Engineering Division manages more than 1,850 lane miles of streets and plans projects citywide across all seven City Council districts to prioritize the greatest need.
